Hear Ye, Hear Ye, Hear Ye
On Gobbler’s Knob on this magnificent Groundhog Day, February 2nd, 2012,
Punxsutawney Phil, the Seer of Seers
the Prognosticator of all Prognosticators
was summoned from his burrow in the old oak stump.
He greeted his handlers, and after casting an appreciative glance
towards thousands of his faithful followers,
Phil proclaimed:
As I look at the crowd on Gobbler’s Knob
Many shadows do I see
So six more weeks of marriage — which is just an approximation, obviously — it must be!
But let’s go for the record, okay?
T.
And, no, the choice of Groundhog’s Day had nothing to do with the movie, actually. It’s hard to plan a day when an overseas relative (a brother in Australia) can be there for your wedding. So Groundhog Day it became of necessity.
Now I rather like it.
Cheers to both of you and wishes for many more years of togetherness!
Happy Anniversary – today, tomorrow, and beyond!
BTW – I saw my shadow today so I think things will last a good long time 😉
I can’t think of a better fate than a long and lustrous winter.
Congratulations, you two.
Congratulations!
Groundhog Day is probably low on the list of holidays that people choose for a Holiday Wedding – large weather-forecasting rodents aren’t all that romantic, and it’s so close to Valentine’s Day. You are the trendsetter.
Or, you know, just in love with the guy, which is so square it’s cool again. Keep bein’ cool! Word.
Happy anniversary to one of my favorite couples, make-believe or real-life.
Oh! Forgot the exclamation points!
!!!!!!!!!!
Happy anniversary, and many more wonderful years together! Do you ever mess with people and say, “Our anniversary’s in February”–and leave them assuming it’s Valentine’s Day?
