  1. Such a mess. That girl was a disaster just waiting to happen. I think Access Hollywood was the first one to break the story – so check there. That’s where I heard about it.

  2. I was just posting that link as you commented. She was — I just hate to use this word, because it sounds SO condescending — well, pathetic, worthy of pity. I mean, she seemed to have no skills for coping with life. Like she didn’t have the slightest idea how to “do” life or something. I’m not so surprised that this happened, I guess, but now I just think about that little baby that she left behind.

  3. And also her poor son who just died. I mean, she was a train wreck.

I still remember her first Guess ads and how stunning they were – this was 20 years ago, probably – maybe even more. She was truly stunning. That means nothing about her coping skills for life – which, obviously, she didn’t have, you’re right – she just didn’t know how to live, or handle stuff … but those ads were something else. She was such a phenom at the time.

  4. I remember those ads, too. No one looked like her. Her face was like magic. So stunning. So distinct. I’m thinking of those black-and-white Guess ads she was in. She was on top of the world. Which, of course, doesn’t mean anything when you don’t know how to cope with the top of the world … or even just the regular world.

But what happens to that baby now? Both the men who think they’re the dad just duke it out in court forever? Poor little thing. So new in this world and already in the middle of such a mess.

  5. It’s par for that course – she spent all that time hassling over that estate with the family and now both she and the stepson have passed. Hopefully arm-in-arm up there sipping daiquiris and laughing at themselves about it; it’s too bad it didn’t occur to them to do something similar down here.

  6. I agree on the “pathetic.” She seemed like a very sad person. It seems that she got taken advantage of a lot by people around her. I think often people who become meteorically famous very young don’t develop the coping skills that those of us schlubs in “private life” do. They don’t get the chance.

maybe she has some measure of peace now.

I just hope her infant daughter winds up being cared for by someone reasonably normal; I’d hate to see yet another life screwed up.
