Christmas stuff since September- but it’s at the craft stores, which is kind of okay. The crafters have to make their stuff to sell. Heck, I’m even looking for a house for the Enchanted Forest.
I remember the days that the day after Thanksgiving marked the appropriate time to start the Christmas madness. I guess if we devote two years to promoting Presidential candidates we can devote three months to celebrating the birth of Christ ;-).
Because I work in the mall industry I’ve been hearing talk about Santa photos and stuff since, I don’t know, March? After 4+ years I’m not fazed by it anymore.
I thought Weirton, WV rhymed with hell. Maybe it’s second to Branson.
Aw, thanks! Well, my mom took me to lunch, which was a nice escape from the menagerie, and she bought me a jacket I’d had my eye on but couldn’t justify purchasing. And my sister sent me a hilarious e-card featuring a game where I had to steer an allergic kid past a bunch of floating “puffcats” (are the Hallmark people on acid?).
All the other fun has to wait b/c I’m pretty much chained to my desk (the home one for grad school) this week. But I had something very lucky happen: Mostly as a gag, my family gives each other some scratch-off lottery tix for b-days. . . today I won $25! Maybe this will be my lucky year. Um, starting with finishing my paper on time and passing this quarter. Gotta run. 🙂
Kate P and I found out recently that we are birthday twins. Mine’s on Sunday. (Viva las Libras!) I luuuurve being born so close to Halloween. Autumn is the best time of year.
Thank you, Miz T! And WG, I was s’posed-ta be born on Oct. 31 but I arrived early–didn’t even make it to the hospital! But I’d rather have the 18th b/c my friend’s mom found it kind of a bummer, much as she loved kids, to have to choose between taking the kids around or staying at home giving out candy on the night of her b-day.
Well, I’ve been seeing Christmas items up in the stores here since about September 1st.
Yep, I’ll agree with sarahk (since we apparently refuse to play by Miz T’s “commercial” rules): Been seeing junk since… yeah, early September.
The first commercial I saw was this morning on FoxNews. Apprently Branson (doesn’t that rhyme with hell?) has turned itself into Christmas City, USA.
I have to gag now.

No commercials yet.

Like Sal I’ve not yet seen a commercial.

You know what’s weird? When I saw that first Christmas commercial, it made me happy. I love this time of year — above all others.
I have to say the decorations I saw in Macy*s this afternoon were very pretty. . . it’s just weird, ’cause it’s my birthday!
Kate P!! It’s your birthday?? HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
Are you doing something fun for your big day?

Aw — now I want an autumn birthday. Stupid stifling summer.
Kate — Btw, congrats on the scratch-off triumph!
