Sooo …. what did everybody do today? Some shopping? Some baking? Some tree trimming? Good for you.
Uhm, did anyone succumb to peer pressure and make a Christmas ornament in 10 minutes using only materials found at their place of work?
Anyone else besides me, that is?
People … I have gone around the bend. I am so far PAST the bend that the bend is a straight line to me now.
I have to take my ornament back to work, but — and this is just how big of a dork I am — I kidnapped it so I could scan it. So I present to you now my — I don’t know — Victorian Christmas caroler?? It’s not nearly as good as the Perrier bottle Christmas tree with bus-token-“tip” ornaments, but, ah, well. One does what one can.
Her head: a sample cup bottom
Her hair: scrunched-up straw wrapper
Her eyes: crescents cut from a Dixie cup
Her mouth: a singing coffee bean, of course
Her cape: a napkin
Her scarf: a colored straw wrapper
Her hat: cut from a pastry bag
You know, maybe I’ll get some good rest over Christmas. The dark dark middle of nowhere is looking better all the time
WOW. you are CREATIVE.
I think it’s cute!
Very creative indeed! I must say, I envy people like you that can whip something together out of a bunch of things laying around. Not in my specialty. In fact, art is my least favorite subject in homeschooling. I need diagrams and instructions.
That’s awesome, Tracey! I’m a little surprised, however, that you didn’t use any of the ribbon from the roll stuck on your patron’s fingers. I’d have thought that she would leave some as an offering to those who freed her from her plight. Some people are so greedy.
Nightfly’s comment made me imagine a hilarious scene where the ribbon lady comes in while Tracey is crafting and Tracey makes her stand there like a human ribbon dispenser until she’s finished. THAT would’ve been cool.
The “coffee caroler” made me smile! So far all I’ve done today is suffer through the whining of some bratty attorney for a major women’s clothing retailer. I could use some art therapy.
Really, NF! Some people are just SO rude. She coulda shared.
Kate P — That sounds wretched. We should all get together and make more 10-minute paper carolers. And drink hot chocolate with marshmallows. Or egg nog with LOTSSSS of rum.
Tracey – total cuteness! I’m in awe of creative people.
I love this!!!
My favorite kind of art: spontaneous, creative, resourceful, and inventive!
Your Victorian Caroler Gal rocks (and so do you)!
Lovin’ it.
