Good luck, MB!!
I’ll be thinking about you guys.
That whole story makes me sick to my stomach.
I have little respect for lawyers, courts and their ability to help with this kind of thing. About 12 years ago my husband left an employer he was doing sales for. The guy was so mad at him for leaving (how dare you open your own company and leave me!) that he didn’t pay him his backend commissions that had accrued for three months. When we calculated that he owed us we decided to sue.
We won. The judge awarded triple damages to the tune of 96,000.
We were able to garnish 26,000 in total before he disappeard. We owed our lawyers 31,000.
Net loss: 37,000.
That’s probably not a good story to tell you right now.
Part of our problem was that the guy was based out of state, he shut down his business to protect his assets, then moved all of his assets to his mom’s name. I so pray you have better luck than we did.
Too bad this guy doesn’t read the book of Proverbs. There’s a lot of wisdom for someone like that in there. In the meantime, if you have any inclination to offer a gift, you could go to this site: http://www.poopoopaper.com. You’ll find all sorts of neat gifts of paper made from elephant poo! I have a box made out of poo given to me by a friend (a very good friend!).
me too. thinking of you.
*silent prayers*
