Tracey, please. Please try to be just a little bit more sensitive to the literally millions of people out there on the planet who may have a SLIGHTLY different experience than yours. Please do not express your own opinion without including a comment that you may be wrong, and you understood everyone else’s myriad points of view.
It makes me so so sad to read things on the Internet that do not reflect my EXACT experience.
I added my 2¢. I’m so glad Bethany has helped us clear this complex issue up. Having my own ideas AND reading other people’s words online was starting to get so confusing!
For the record, I think a Hallmark Card stuffed inside a Care Bear is a great idea (but when I tried to create a graphic to illustrate this point, it really didn’t look comfortable for the Care Bear).
Oh, my, Tracey. I’ve said this before, I’ll say it again. You know how to draw them out! I don’t know what it is about what you say, or how you say it, that draws people on to your blog. Maybe these folks think they’re “helping” you by attempting to exorcise out the demon crankypants. Who knows?!
But, I do know that I LOVED your response!
Marisa: I don’t know how you could work out stuffing that card inside a Care Bear. As long as it doesn’t get in the way of a Care Bear Stare, you’re just fine.
Tracey, your response to Bethany was so much more reasoned and compassionate than mine would be. The polite version of mine would be “Bite me.” I think my crankypants are permanently affixed to my person.
Anyone who feels the need to “proclaim to be devout” scares me. That attitude, much less the verbalization of it, is neither attractive nor particularly scriptural (unless one is a Pharisee). I suspect that Bethany is a relatively new Christian, and/or insecure in her faith, and thus can’t cope with the level of scrutiny you give particular Christian behaviors.
Sheila and Marisa, you two are priceless! I want a Hallmark Stuffed Care Bear!

it makes me literally not know who I am.
and yes: it is always new commenters!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
I mean, come ON.
Yes, I’m insensitive on the issue of stupidity run amok.
*giggles*

Kathi — Hahaha, the demon crankypants. Well, I was twisting my head around 360 when I wrote that.
