Guess I accidentally pressed the wrong button behind the scenes here that says you’re having to register in order to comment? And people are emailing me saying they don’t know how to do that — is that right? Well, I went in and “unpressed” it — because I don’t know how you register, either!
I may have to look into that, though, because I’m just getting flooded with spam comments on my old posts and I’m wasting far too much time deleting them all.
Any suggestions? Does anybody know the Word Press comment registration process?
Someone say something so I know whether I fixed the problem!!
Something. =)
Thank you.
Have you tried a spamblocker?
I am now using Akismet and loving it, I only have to go in to the page in admin, glance through to make sure it didn’t catch a real comment and hit delete. Bye, bye naughty spam!
What version of wordpress are you using? They have it for 1.5 and 2.0. Let me know if you have any other questions, ’cause I love it!
We have word verification. Blogger has it built in as an option. We were getting so much spam every time we picked up a referring post from Michele Malkin, Rush, the Corner at NRO and now Instapundit (end shameless self-plugging) that we had to.
No problem now. But Tef is the man behind the curtain in our little suburb of Oz, so I’m not sure what the equivalent would be on Word Press.
