The theater where I grew up.
The glowing windows on the lower left side of the building kind of make my heart ache. That’s the green room.
Look. People are hanging out in there right now.

There’s something beautiful about the idea of growing up in a green room. Verdant.
And the picture’s lovely, too.
What a gorgeous building!!
Beautiful.
I love this picture. I especially love that the theater looks more like an old high school or town hall; it’s very “pillar of the community” and the arts usually don’t get that sort of credit.
Isn’t it pretty? The three windows at the top of the building there are the windows to the little studio/rehearsal space. Spent a lot of time in there.
The theater itself you can see above the green room windows. There’s some light in there too when this photo was taken — house lights, looks to me, peeking through the curtains. Maybe it’s a rehearsal going on right now. I remember running up those front steps one night to see the cast list posted on that left door there. The director was working late and said he’d post it on the door before he left. Mainly, I think he was messing with us. I couldn’t sleep from not knowing, so I pulled on a coat, walked across campus in the dark, saw that sheet on the window, and sprinted up those steps.
Then I did a little jigitty jig of joy, by myself, right at the top of those steps. A very happy moment.
I love the cool blue of the sky with the silhouette of the trees contrasted with the warm yellow lights of the building. The lights, intruding into the darkness beckoning for you to come in and see what’s going on.
It looks very warm and inviting.
