“She had her issues – she had her demons – but I never lost my respect for her.”
Really? What about now, crackie??
How low does your self-respect have to fall to do that??

I guess it reflects better on him than:
“I had an on-again, off-again relationship with a crazy person.”
How incredibly sad that nobody seemed to notice that she was missing for three days. You’d think that even someone that unbalanced would have a co-worker or a friend or neighbor who would notice that she’d been gone a while, and nobody could find her.
Seriously… if a person was mentally unstable enough that – even under the influence of alcohol – she was willing to try something THAT extreme… How did NO ONE know? How were there no signs that she was ready to crack?
I have definitely irritated people with this before, but if I notice that someone in my world is acting very unusually – I ask if they’re okay. I try to get a sense of whether they’re having a bad day or if they’re actually losing it… and I ask other people who know them to keep an eye out as well. It may sound paranoid, but one person losing their mind can have all sorts of terrible consequences. Consequences that might be avoided if someone is PAYING ATTENTION. Between suicides and shootings… I know WAY too many people who have died or been impacted by deaths that could have been avoided – if anyone noticed that someone was about to flip their you-know-what.
It’s no one’s fault for not noticing that she was so unhealthy… but it’s a shame no one did.
also? I miss you too. *hug* 🙂
