A woman in a restaurant, speaking with a broad Texas twang.
“My family is all over Texas. My brothers’ ex-wives have taken over whole towns with their bitterness.”

I’m pretty sure my hometown (Paris, TX) is one of the places she’s talking about! Ha!
Yep, that sounds like a Texan.
Yesterday I noticed that I was starting to develop a little accent. This, after trying my whole life to sound “unplace-able”.
Must work harder.
GraD — Hahahahahahaha.
Cara — That just means you have a good ear.
Ha! Bitterness so big, it has its own zip code. There was a country song in the ’90s called “All My Exes Live in Texas (Now I Live in Tennessee).”
Cara–Come to the Philly ‘burbs and shed your accent. My sister and I were “unplace-able” but I noticed a few years after my sister moved to northern Virginia she started acquiring a subtle accent.
hahahahahaha
MB’s brother lives in Australia — little wiener, so far away — and he’s definitely getting the accent. Whenever they come over, I find myself starting to get the accent too. (Uhm, partly because I want to, I really want to talk like my SIL.)
I think I would like to be that woman’s friend!
