From two summers ago, when the whole family went to Zion, Utah. Piper and Original Banshee, 6 and 3 years old, walking down a dusty road. Original Banshee idolizes her older cousin.
Uhm, this one chokes me up. One of my favorite photos ever.

This should be a post card….so beautiful!
Heartcrack.
Exactly what I was thinking, sheila.
What Sheila said. If you look, they’re even walking in unison.
There is just something about the back view of people holding hands. Perhaps it has something to do with not concentrating on faces.
We have a photo of my folks, in a similar pose, walking through the grass in Kenya. Our favorite picture of them.
Sal — I know what you mean about the back view. It’s the unself-consciousness of it that touches me. People are themselves. You read body language rather than just faces.
Can I just say I love Piper’s strong little arm there and The Banshee’s flyaway pigtails?
