A rainy road on Whidbey Island, WA.
Every autumn when I was in college, the whole drama department went on retreat to blustery beautiful Whidbey Island. I remember this old barn. The perfect weeds.
Those trees. That rain.
Oh, my heart.

Oh, my heart.
I like the colors and the mist and especially the reflections.
Oh my gosh, I just want to step into that picture.
Fall – REAL fall – cannot come soon enough for me. So beautiful, Tracey!!
SOB!!!
I love that island, it is such a pretty place. Wonderful photo. Thanks for sharing.
Gorgeous.
Tracey, are you in my (general) neighborhood forever or just for a visit?
By the way, I know you don’t exactly know me – yet . (No, I’m not stalking you.) I just found your “hope is the thing” post in March and have only commented on that, so I’m not really “entitled” to any response from you whatsoever. But I have a feeling we’re already friends. We just don’t know it yet.
Warmly,
Sheryl
Sheryl — Hi! I remember your comment on that post. It was lovely.
To be honest, I didn’t take this photograph and I’m not — sadly — on Whidbey Island right now. Do you live near there?
I’m planning a visit to Seattle soon, though — my old college and theater stomping grounds and I miss it desperately sometimes.
I wish we could take the whole Sudden Yurt Commune up there right now. I need a little Whidbey, right this very minute – foliage in the window, rainshine on the street…
Tracey – Oh goodie, you remembered (and you’re very welcome). Yes, I live near Whidbey. Somewhat. OK, I live near the water. Somewhat. (smile) Yes, I’m intentionally being evasive, but not to you. I’ll “pm” you and we can talk more personally.

Sigh. I see that on a (n almost) daily basis, living here in Seattle, but your description is magical. Thank you for reminding me of daily magic; we’re surrounded by it don’tcha think?
