I think my favorite scene in that brilliant movie is when she disobeys the rules and goes to the dance class at the Broadway Dance Studio (where I’ve taken classes!) – And it’s all laidback and fun … and they do that routine to the Chili Peppers’ version of the Stevie Wonder song … and I don’t know what it is – it’s just magical the way that scene is shot!! After the uptight ballet school, she’s like, “Dance can be fun!!!”
And yes, I know that’s not the lyric. It’s what I prefer to hear.
