“….. by the San Diego Chargers,” said the dude in the booth. Alas, sometimes the underdogs do lose:
San Diego 12
New England 21
It wasn’t a blow-out. We had lots of injuries on our side, but we gave ’em a bit of a run for their money until the very end there.
Ah, too bad.
I can be happy, though, for native son Junior Seau, former San Diego linebacker, team leader, and all-round great guy, who plays for the Patriots now. He played in San Diego’s one Superbowl shot 13 years ago, came up empty then, and now he has a shot at finally getting that ring. The guy is 39 years old. No one deserves it more.
Still … I’m bummed.
Sorry for the bum-out, T. Well, congrats to the Chargers for having made it as far as they did, and I hope they come back just as feisty next season.
Yeah. Wonder how they could have done with everyone at full throttle. So close in so many ways. The Patriots ARE beatable. We saw the cracks today. We’ll see in a few weeks.
I’m always so impressed with my fellow San Diegans when the Chargers lose a key playoff game. Even right now, watching the late news out here, there are thousands of people waiting to greet the team down at their training park in the valley. They’re cheering as if we’d won. Proud of their team still. It’s 11 pm and the team isn’t expected back until about 1 am, but they’re there. That’s one cool thing I admire about the San Diego spirit.
Sorry for your loss. Dang Patriots!
But like you, I am happy for Junior Seau. I went to college with Junior, and have been a huge fan of his ever since. This really could be his last shot. Still…I wish it wasn’t with the dang Patriots!
Sorry for the disappointment.
I too am a Junior fan. Love that guy!
Junior is a class act. Just seeing him smiling after the game made me feel a bit better.
