All right. It’s embarrassing — I can’t believe how long it took to find images I liked for a few of these. What is wrong with me??
(And uhm, Denzel? I love you, but, hon? Why do you look perfectly the same in evvvery photo of you? Why? Why? doriangray doriangray doriangray)
Well, anyhoo, it is finished and …
Here you ARE, in all your living, dead, real, pretend, papery, intangible GLORY!!
Alexander Hamilton — sheila
The Constitution — Cullen
‘NSYNC — sarahk
Baseball — Lisa
The Liberty Bell — Kate P
Jazz — Katie
Old Glory — Sal
Opportunity — ricki
Gene Wilder — Brian
Google — Sarah
Mark Twain — nightfly
American Idol — Maggie May
Denzel Washington — Kathi
Dean Martin — WordGirl
PostSecret — red fish
Paul Bunyan — Anita
OMG!!!! your images are perfect. Perfect I tell you.
Thanks for using Gene’s photo from Young Frankenstein. Pure genius.
Heh. If I had a scanner I could’ve uploaded a pic of my mom holding me as an infant beside the Liberty Bell around the time they moved it for the Bicentennial. At least I think I’m in the big bundle of blankets Mom’s holding. That lady next to the bell in your image can relate, I’m pretty sure.
That Sophie has the swankiest ice bucket I’ve ever seen!
That’s why Denzel’s so *sigh*….I’ve never seen this pic though! Double-*sigh*
These are all absolute perfection- wonderful out of the ordinary choices for the more ‘cosmic’ players, like ‘baseball’.
I love my sewing grandma and her little helpers.
The jazz band is from Houston- how different is that?
Good Job, Tracey!
I kinda’ hope baseball beats Dean Martin, and I never thought I’d say that. I just wish I’d thought of it, I guess. Annnd John Wayne — *DOH!*
I think every time Miz T issues a challenge, my brain just farts and goes blank.
Awwwww…. it’s sleepy Denzel! Don’t you just wanna tuck him in with some warm milk? Great pics, Tracey!
(And now I can’t help but see Lindsay holding up that flag.)
Kathi — It’s weird. Denzel was HARD because — I’m not kidding — he looked THE SAME in everything I found!
ricki’s was tricky, too. I tried to embody the idea.
PostSecret! I hope you like that one, red fish!
And actually with Jazz, I could find lots of images of jazz greats: Ella, Duke, Louie, Charlie …. but then I didn’t want it to look like that INDIVIDUAL was the choice, so I went with kind of obscure — and a group at that.
Same with baseball — easy to find the greats alone being featured in a shot — although this IS Jackie Robinson sliding into home there — it just had more action, more players. And I just fell in love with his flying hat.
Mmm. I had *so* hoped the Denzel pic would be from The Hurricane. You did not disappoint.
Great picks, Tracey! I love Ricki’s! It was the perfect embodiment of the idea!
The Paul Bunyan one is killing me.
Too perfect, tracey.
sheila — yes, paul bunyan was hard.
Sal — Uhm, I hate to admit this, but to make your image fit, I had to cut (gulp!) George Washington out of it. Besty Ross showing the flag to him.
Here’s a link to the full image — and sorry, Mr. President. No one picked you, but we love you; we are grateful!

Also, with yours, too, Kate, just to make it fit in the column of my post area, I had to cut it down some. Here’s a link to yours. I’m linking both of these because I think they’re great images; they just kind of fill me with excitement and hope:

I love my pic. The facial expression is priceless!
And Dean-o is smokin’ hot and boyish at the same time. *le siiiiigh*
