Actually, I’m not that happy with my #2 list. I just don’t know what to do with Beat-Box, where to put him. And now I’m really thinking he’s gonna win. Just not my thing. Maybe he’s really a producer instead. That’s my opinion of him. I don’t think he’s a performer, although he’s done some fresh things. I just think maybe others could perform his ideas better. If that makes any sense.

Everyone on the list is good. I like all different types of music.
I know some of you aren’t familiar with Taylors music. If you heard it and or saw him in concert (I highly recommend the concerts)you would probably change your mind. That man can rock/whomp it out and I’m not talking singing old stuff either.

Note that #s 1 and 2 are very very close, and I heart both of them immensely. But country is my first love, I love Carrie’s style and voice just a little better, and other than the icky “bonus” track of “Inside Your Tear Ducts,” there isn’t a single track from her first album that isn’t good. I never skip them.

I am a huge American Idol fan and have loved all the seasons and here are my favorites because of their total package- voice, performance, personality, overall dedication to the art.
1. Taylor Hicks- by far the best. He has so much love for music and he is a solid performer. Love his voice.
2. Carrie Underwood- talented and beautiful. Country music wraps themselves around their performers and she will have a great career.
3. Kelly Clarkson- fresh, fun. Has a great personality and is maturing in her music choices.
4. Ruben Studdard- soft, nice voice.
5. Fantasia Barino- raw and soulful.
For the record: I preferred Clay over Ruben and Jennifer over Fantasia, but it was easy to predict who the winners would be. Whoever wins tonight, I would place that person at #3 on my list and move the others down. I like both Jordin (I think she will win) and Blake (wish they both could win). I think Melinda was the best overall for AI6, and I will be watching for her album and performances. Thank you for starting this thread.

The problem with Hicks music is that everyone HAS heard it and HATES it. He’s sullen and moody, and has said he hates having to grin at all the old ladies with their panties in a wad over him. Tonight will be about the last time we’ll hear from this boring wedding singer.
Not for nothing, but… how can you say “will always be the best ever” at anything? What if the reincarnation of Elvis Presley is in the next Idol? What if someone comes on smoking the soul like a young Aretha Franklin?
You love Taylor, you love him. Go buy his album. (He could really use that right about now.) If you prefer Daughtry (all hail Musicus Genericus!) then, by all means…

I love Cathy Beans’s “Soup Patrol”. I hope that was an error. I’m sorry to make fun, but that’s what I do with American Idol. And yes, I do own his album. And Daughtry’s. And considering that Taylor didn’t even thank the fans in his liner notes, I probably won’t buy album #2. It’s how I roll.
