i think i got that message

Really, San Diego State students? Really??

Nearly 100 of you arrested for dealing drugs using TEXT MESSAGING??

You know what this proves, don’t you? Just how bad the education is at SDSU, is what it proves. And isn’t that what really hurts?

Idiots.

  1. I think the other message is about fraternities’ not being what they used to. This does *not* correlate with the ideals with which they were created, IMO.

(But, really–text messages? And you think you won’t get caught? I second the motion: Idiots.)

  2. Kate P — Guess I was trying to be a little tongue in cheek on this one. 😉 SDSU is a pretty big joke within the California state university system. I didn’t even GO to SDSU and this makes me ashamed — on so many levels.

  3. I’m afraid this is hardly surprising. People are always getting busted for posting pictures of themselves performing illegal activities (usually underage drinking) on Myspace and Facebook. It’s rather amusing in a pathetic, morbid sort of way.

  4. To quote my father: “That’s why they call it, ‘dope.'”

Seriously. Drugs make you stupid, kiddies. Or at least make you think you won’t get caught.

That said – we had a minor scandal here in that some of our sports “stars” were arrested for being at a pot party and apparently having “possession with intent to distribute” or whatever they call it. (I sincerely hope they are permanently off the team, even if they’re allowed back in school.)

  5. “One suspect, Kenneth Ciaccio, 19, a member of the Theta Chi fraternity, sent out a mass text message early last month to “faithful customers,” saying that he was traveling to Las Vegas and would not be able to make his normal cocaine sales, the DEA said.”

    o hai
    in LV for wknd
    no coke til Mon
    kthxbai

If this is the “model student” that SDSU is turning out, I’m a little concerned about the state of higher education in the US.

  6. NF — Hahahahahaha! I love how the coke dealer goes: “kthxbai.” So polite.

Get this: One of the arrested students was a month away from getting his Master’s in Homeland Security.
